Took a good 15-20 mins to read ... very cool review. And, there're a few bands mentioned that I need to check out. The mountains, the fog look AWESOME!!

How did you manage with the transportation to getting to the venue .. and was it expensive in terms of plane tickets, etc. ?

EXCELLENT review!!!!! Love the Defeated Sanity and Hate Eternal bits the most...AJ and Lille I expected would create a monster, but didn't expect the kind you explained!! Excited about Chapters of Repugnance even more now.

Thanks for the uber cool review!

I read through this the day it was posted, but kept forgetting or getting side-tracked to responding here.  It was definitely a very awesome review, and I'm jealous... Between those amazing pictures and spectacular write-up, that looks like it would have been a monstrously good time.  Probably one of the better festivals around, and not even for the bands playing, which leave a lot to be desired.  Just seems like insane fun.

Those pictures, too, are the most epic I've seen of any fest, ever.

Great (exhaustive) work, Ewan!

K,
I can't find where to access this live review from the main site?
Did you forget to include the link in the reviews section??

Yeah I have yet to update the reviews section (alphabetical pages) with last month's reviews.

But you can access the MoD review from the main site in three different ways -
1) "Mountains of Death festival, Switzerland - Show Report" --> clickable link
2) MoD pic - clickable image
3) MoD banner - also clickable

Ah, my bad, I didn't scroll down on the main/news page, just went directly to reviews and saw it wasn't there.

It is interesting to read about the exceptionally warm reception that Hate Eternal received, and this, despite playing as a 3-piece.

When they played on their UK tour here in February, interestingly supporting Misery Index, they had this totally lukewarm reception. MI swept them off the stage!

Things can change so much from gig to gig.

MI never fails to sweep HI off the stage, far as I'm concerned.  MI as a 3-piece when they should have been a 4-piece just destroys everything.  Few are fortunate enough to experience such an event, and tell of it at that!
